When Will You Sail?

What we do during the course of our lives comes down to in the simplest terms to what we decided to do.  Often times our decisions or choice become mired in the noise and opinions of the world around us.  Early on we learn to choose what foods we like.  What shows we watch.  What people we have as friends.  As the years go by these choices appear to take on a more sobering overtone.  What education to get.  What job to take.  Who to marry, whether to have children or not and if you want fries with that.  So often the thoughts of what we truly want to do with our lives end up littering the boulevard of broken dreams.  "Oh, c'mon I can't do that" is the refrain that plays out again and again from the voice inside our head.  Today I met someone who was able to push beyond that.  I was at the hospital visiting a friend and turned a corner on my way to get a coffee.  The man passed me in the hallway and I turned and said, "Rob".  Good memory I thought.  I had not seen him in 20 years.  Small talk led me to find out that he is now retired.  He sold his business.  Sold off the few rental properties he had and now his time is split between a cottage in Haliburton and a 35' sailboat in Florida.  "If the weather is not great in Florida" he told me.  "I just sail down to the islands".  I love to find the stories that prove the philosophy.  Here is what this means I guess.  YOU can bring to life those thoughts that the Perspectives - Where you are now has nothing to do with where you can go by Randy Taylor of Taylormade Leadership @TheWinnerWithin (Social)world may not support.  YOU can do what pleases you, period.  YOU can be the one who follows their dreams and proves to be the inspiration for your children and family and friends and the world who may succumb to the voices of "can't".  Do this then.  The next time a thought arises of what you really want to do ask this question.  "When will you sail"?  Have an excellent day. Be well, Randy Taylor
