The Lender Of Time
Published on January 12, 2015
We often lament the prospect that there are just not enough hours in the day. Too many tasks and too few hours. Much like the adage that we have, "Too much week left at the end of the money". Sadly, one of the first tasks to get tossed off of the priority list when pressed for time are those activities that actually allow us to grow as people. I have mentioned many times the quote of Jim Rohn, "Learn to work harder on yourself than you do on your job. If you work hard on your job you can make a living. If you work hard on yourself you can make a fortune". It is that philosophy that makes it possible for us all of what we desire to become in life. The fact remains that in order to have more we must become more. The world of personal growth offers much in the way of daily activities and exercises that can provide enormous opportunities for growth if followed consistently. You can choose from meditation, journaling, daily gratitude's, exercise, prayer and reading from the greatest minds our civilization has to offer. Just the way we must provide fuel for the body by eating each day, providing fuel for the mind will reward us in much the same way. I'm sure you are reading this right now and thinking, "Yeah, that sounds good but where to I find the time?" Two places where few people think to look. In the morning or in the evening. Ask yourself this question. "What would happen if I chose to selfishly give myself a half our in the evening or to get up a half hour earlier in the morning to indulge in improving myself"? The answer is more than you can imagine. Once a decision is made to begin to invest in yourself and to indulge in this private time you will quickly begin to not only enjoy it but to cherish it as a critically important time of your day. Over a ten year period that time spent on "you" would allow you the time to read and study over two hundred great books. Think of the impact just that would have on your future. "Lending yourself" that half hour a day could do more to influence the outcome of your life than most anything else. Have an excellent day. Be well, Randy Taylor
