Not Now Means Just That

Not Now Means Just ThatI laugh sometimes when I write one of the daily perspectives and I get an e-mail back from someone asking how it was that I knew exactly what they were thinking.  I normally e-mail back, "Didn't you know I'm psychic"?  Truth is that after working in this field for so many years I have gotten to know the similarities of what we all go through.  I know all too well the dialogue of "the voice" we all hear day after day.  It is the challenge of "the voice" offering up incorrect information that causes us to make incorrect decisions.  I heard one of the common inner "statements" yesterday while doing some work.  What many of us believe when another tells us not now is "never".  All we need do to see the truth is to just look at the words.  The first statement included the words "not now" the second "never".  Clearly one has nothing to do with the other, yet that liar in our head makes us believe it to be so.  Amazing isn't it. I had that experience not once but three times today.  Great news travels in three's I guess.  I have had a philosophy for a very long time that if a prospective client told me not now, that meant we were going to do business later.  I can't take full credit for this.  I actually learned it from my son who continues to ask until he gets what he wants.  What happened was that 3 managers I have spoken to over the past 3 years and who all had consistently said "not now" all said yes.  What a fabulous lesson.  It's true you know.  From this day forward make this a part of your philosophy.  "Not now means just that".  Have an excellent day.   Be well,   Randy Taylor   Buy The Books!
