From Ashes To The Mountain Top

From Ashes To The Mountain TopHow far can you go?  Good question and one that I'm sure we all ponder often.  If we say "the skies the limit" and we actually believe it then we will no doubt end up in the clouds.  If however we immediately doubt the power we have to create what we long for then we begin gravely challenged before we ever get out of the blocks.  This is one such story and the last piece of the puzzle has slipped into place, capping off an incredible story so big that Hollywood would not have been able to dream it up.  It's the story of the single mom, living on welfare, trying to put her life back together following her divorce and the loss of her mom.  She loved to write.  That was all she knew and one day while waiting for a 4-hour delay for her train she came up with an idea.  That idea would be given birth over the coming months in her apartment and local coffee shops which provided a place for the fledgling writer to pour out her ideas while her young daughter slept.  The manuscript was turned down by more than 12 of the top publishers in the country.  Finally she was accepted and given a publishing deal, which paid her only $4,000. Within a few weeks of publication, (1996) the book sales really started to take off. The initial print run was of only 1,000 - 500 of these went to libraries. First editions are now said to be worth up to £25,000 each.  Joanne, or JK Rowling is today one of the most noted authors of our time.  Sales of her books have exceeded 400 million copies and she is said to be worth about $1. billion personally.  A good deal of her money now is being channeled to charity.  Don't see her as she is today.  Billionaire.  World acclaimed writer, producer and philanthropist.  See her as the single mom, collecting welfare and struggling to breathe life into a dream not one of us would have wagered a nickel on.  Know this.  The start never equals the finish.  Not when you believe.  It's there you know. For you and I and for everyone.  That journey that can take us from ashes to the mountain top.  Have an excellent day.   Be well,   Randy Taylor   Buy The Books!
